Sara Sadat is a visual artist strongly influenced by the community, especially scenes from her upbringing of the Arboretum Village in Lisle, Illinois. Her compositions are exquisitely composed to capture the scene with dynamism and affection whether it be the movement of the wind through the leaves or the sound the dancing feet make pitter pattering throughout the town.
She has a clear, dynamic visual style that creates maximum impact with bold colors and brush strokes giving each shape and alignment a careful consideration to show the character of the subject matter and complete the overall piece. Her aesthetic is influenced by the process of layering sculpting material on rendered canvas, often including unconventional means to provide depth, movement, where the essence of the image is ascertained through a visual distillation and physical removal process; the areas left then create the harmony of sound and all things essential to communicating the image and proves a joy for the viewer to interpret and live alongside.
Currently living in Lisle, Illinois, as a youth Sadat studied under visiting artists at the University of Illinois School of Art & Design. Alongside her painting practice, for many years, Sadat worked as a Creative Design consultant for large international companies.
Her work now is motivated by the preservation of communal conversations, dialog and study of movement and through her painting she seeks to advocate for the counteraction of careless approaches and to draw attention to the isolation and solitude of her own healings as a domestic abuse survivor.
